A gang member will be sentenced later this year in the 2004 murder of a Chino man who belittled an NFL team.
Marcos Solorio of Pomona was found guilty on Sept. 22 after a re-trial for the cold-case homicide. He is facing 50 years to life in prison.

On Jan. 18, 2004, Pomona police were called to an alleyway near the 2400 block of Chanslor Street. They found Alex Delgado, 19, shot to death near a dumpster.

Officers found out that Delgado was at a nearby apartment complex earlier that day. During a conversation, Delgado made derogatory remarks about a professional football team in front of a local gang member, police said.

The gang affiliated themselves with that football team and took offense to Delgado's remarks, according to the news release. Police believed Solorio killed Delgado for making the comments.

Solorio was arrested as a homicide suspect in spring of 2004 but lack of evidence and witnesses kept the case from being filed with the L.A. County District Attorney's office.

Pomona police's Cold Case Unit re-opened the case in 2009 when a witness came forward with information. Officials filed murder charges against Solorio in January and the case was tried in Pomona Superior Court but the trial resulted in a hung jury.

I don't see how the dolphins logo could be affiliated with a gang, since they claim 'olive st'.....I was thinking something like the orioles or the sharks(hockey) would be the choice of some Pomona gangs......

Most likely the Dolphins, I didnt know that street was in their hood but according to how the article read, it has to be them...

I think Olive st calls themselves dolphins as a counter to P12 Sharkies. Sense Dolphins kill sharks in the ocean supposedly.
