No. That wasn't me. And I don't know how true that is. San Bernardino has the oldest Black hoods in IE would be my answer. I don't know about the rest.

Come on now homie, that wasnt something I let known on here, I don't know much of anything about the origins of the black hoods over there, so it would be hard to believe that I made that comment. If I'm tripping and I did say that then it was second hand information from the so called PJC we had a while back on here. I should have mentioned Riverside. 1200 Block, Rubidoux PJ's, and Casa Blanca comes to mind.

LOL. Curious. What kind of stuff you been smoking Huero? Why would I say something and then try to pull back on it? I don't ever recall saying anything like that. There was however a dude on here a young cat who claimed he was from Rubidoux Projects, I forget his name but he did in fact mention that particular date. He was young so thats why I can't take that statement as reliable. You may remember a quote I pulled up but never did I bring that out of my own knowledge.

The dude also said that he was originally from Watts but came to Rubidoux through family and got put on with them. He mentioned on this forum before it went down that they had ties to PJ Watts. Thats what Huero must be talking about.

Oldest blacK gang in the I.E???? Damn.... uhm.. Just the fact that they are "bloods/crips", we can place many of these black hoods to atleast the late 70s, early 80s, but to go any further i think the issue is to find out what their ORIGINAL hood name was, before the B/C thing jumped off. Like how the Gilbert Streets were called Patriot Boys, and so forth.

More or less what you are going to find is the family cliques. You had the Butlers in Riverside kicking up dust in the 70s and of course the Macon/Davis family in San Bernardino. There was also some activity in the projects in the late 60s. They were involved in a riot which jumped off when the San Bernardino Police roughed up some cats at a house party. This had to have been sometime around 68 or 69 because my pops was going to school at Franklin Jr. High at the time (now Martin Luther King). The incident is mentioned in some congressional records looking at inner-city violence.

I also have a picture of my uncle dressed in his club gear back in the late 50s. White t-shirt, jeans with the big cuffs and some shoes which look like converse all-stars. He said there was "clubs," in the neighborhoods where he grew up first down in the Valley on King Street and later when they moved over on sixth street in what is now 7th Street hood. The picture I have was taken in '58 or '59 at which time my family had already moved over on 20th. I know for certain a couple of the cats he knew went on to criminal careers of note in gambling and prostitution but he straightened up and pursued a career in the military. Others from the clique were athletes of note one of which played pro-football with the Chargers.

Everyone I have spoke to about this always mentions the Macons as the very first hood with roots that go back into the early 70's.

I know the Macons are still doing they thang in San Bern, but what about the Butlers these days in Riverside? Do they consider themselves to be a gang or just operate like one? I don't know anything about them.

I dont know to much about Riverside gangs/origins. The Macons are basically one of a kind,VERY large family in San Bernardino with deep history on the Westside. They always operated like a gang and I always new them as Macon Mafia Gang.

The Butler's are still around but on another level now for the most part. One is a well known pastor and community activist in Riverside. Another has some businesses in San Bernardino. The family last made the news a couple years back when one time blasted baby girl while she was asleep in the car. You remember Tyeisha Miller, she was a Butler. There are some Butler's in San Bernardino as well in and around the Zion's and CG's.

Who? The Macons? They been in San Bernardino pushing the line for 3 decades or more from what I can personally account for. I was very young and I vividly remember and hearing about the Macons. This was in the late 70's, they really started to get the big name name in San Bernardino through out the 80's. The Macons are definatley one of the oldest if not the oldest, organized hustler/gang in IE the way I see it.

As 1200 Block Crip, yes, but they where around before Crip landed in there area as something else. You can read it in one of those history articles about gangs on the Eastside. Like many to most Southern California gang origins, 9 times out of 10 they were known as some other kind of "organization" prior to being established as what they are known by now.
