I'm interested in knowing more about the eastside and its origins in gang banging because i dont tend to hear alot of gang stories outside of the early to mid 1990s on the eastside of san bernardino. My first assumption is that ESV MBR is the oldest. Maybe because of the DUKES name that they call themselves, i dont know. Thats an older generation name to me, like the Vagabundos over in the waterman garden projects. Who/where was the first varrio, and what/where was the first black gang?

The first to come to mind is Waterman Gardens as one of the first varrios on the Eastside. PPHG is the first black gang on the Eastside. I understand WGX3 was around since the 50's/60's. The Projects alone have been around since the late 40's. PPHG moved into the WG's in the 80's. I don't exactly understand what you mean by gang stories? Let me know what your referring to and i'll see if I can elaborate. If you mean beefs there was plenty in that area prior to the 90's, mostly spill over from the West siders and out of town black gangs from the city.

By "gang stories" i meant just gang activity in general. But yeah, i guess my assumption was on the money. I figured those two were amongst the first if not the first themselves. An "Eastside SB MAP" sounds good right now...

The other day a came across a couple of these WGX3 kids on myspace. A few of them are into dressing real old school like its the 70's or 60's
