You talking about the Blacks or the Cambodians? The general area is 5X hood, but those apartments on the corner of 2nd and Meridians is where the Cambodians stay at. They been repping 2nd St. Meridians for as long as I can remember.

Yeah, when it comes to 2nd street/Meridians...that's the first thing that comes up...them Cambodians...the 2nd st. Meridians KLS gang. Like Cray said, just about ALL the Cambodians in Rialto are concentrated into that one little area...that one apartment complex. Dudes was real active in the 90s, not too sure about today. Didn't you use to stay around that area Cray?

That whole area has ALWAYS been 5X hood even since before the actual formation of the 5's when it was nothing but hustlers in the 70's. There is some Cambodians in the area but most settled in the area during the 80's. They got swept up in the local gang "allure" and began to mimic it, thats why you have them claiming Meridian or 2nd and such, but that area is 5x hood through and through and they know that. Back in the 80's and 90's the spot on 2nd and Meridian was one of the main 5x spots.

Nothing notable, that area is traditional 5x hood. I never heard of the cambodians over there involved in any of the 5x beefs, they do there own thing.

The 5's hood goes from Rialto ave south to roughly Etiwanda north. The first Meridians and second Meridians is there main spots, now the injunctions have changed all that but thats the general area. Nicholson Park which is rite next to the apartments on 2nd and Meridian was a big 5x spot in the 80's and 90's.

Most of the cambodians were from Long Beach. As we all know, a shit load of cambodians settled in LB years ago, and where ever they go, they go together. So at some point some of them decided to move to 2nd street all together lol..I used to go to casey elementary in Rialto for a few years when I was a kid and it was fucken packed with cambodians. I only knew ONE cambodian that lived outside of 2nd st...lol..I would really never see them outside of the 2nd st area unless it was at school or something. They were some rowdy little kids though..I never actually heard of 2nd st Meridian Boys, I wouldn't doubt it if some of them started claiming that. For the most part, they had their little clicks but never really came up as a factor outside that one street.

As I can remember they settled in this spot during the late 80's. I began running into a few of them at Ike during this time, the ones I met were not from LB, or California they were straight from their country fresh into their new surroundings. Alot of them didn't speak english. They fled there country during this time and alot settled in different CA cities, but mostly in Long Beach.

Oh I'm not doubting that some of them came from Long Beach but in the same sense they were in unfamiliar land (United states) they were still new to this area regardless. Like I said the ones I saw didn't speak english.

Yes, they were immigrants to the bone. I knew the kids because I was just a kid myself during that time, and their parents didn't speak any english..the kids were the first generation growing up in the US..I do remember a few who didn't speak english or barely could speak it. Some spoke it good enough but english wasn't their first language for most of them. I have no idea how it is now.. Wounder how many of them are left over there

I'm pretty sure I was there from like 93 to 96....my last year there was 96. Before that I went to Kelly off meridian. Funny thing was, even though kelly is just down the street from 2nd st, everybody off meridian went to casey after they switched it in the early 90's.

I would have to consider the Cambodians to be the most "ghetto" out of all the other Asian ethnicitys...If yall seen the movie "The Killing Fields", you would understand why. They came from a country plagued with mass genocide (millions) and destruction during the days of the Khmer Rouge...a time when it was not uncommon to see the people you love get slaughtered over little to nothing. As you can tell, many Cambodians today still havn't fully assimilated to the American way of living. That's why it's not uncommon to run across a Cambodian who speaks little English, as they didn't touch down on to American soil till the 80s (after the days of the Khmer Rouge and Vietnam War).

2nd st. merridians...separate from 5x's

Post  Guest on Wed Nov 26, 2008 1:48 pm

I know a dude that claims 2nd st. he told me that some of the homies had internal problems so they just split in two. We did a video over there real shit, and some 5x's dudes came up on bikes ready to blast. But, they saw the 2nd st. niccas with us and just rode off as soon as they came. I do know that 5x's is one of the most territorial hoods in sb. Them and Delman Hieghts.

when i used to play for nicolson and hang out at nicolson park which is right across the street from the 2nd Meridians as they are called, it was always 5X's hood. This was in the late 80's and early 90's. I haven't been in that area in awhile but I seriously doubt any real fallout would ever happen between the two because that is the park that the 5's hang out at. I've heard different stories from people who actually live there so i just gave up and figured its still 5x's and thats that.
