Here is a clip of our pair of love birds, fuckn hot MILF, creepy fuckn son!

HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD (in two parts, Italian cinema's cheesy answer to Romero's "Dawn of the Dead")
Part 1 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Part 2 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

There is a fourth film that belongs here but I only found dead links and that is NIGHTMARE CITY from back in 1980/81 which technically can lay claim to cinema's first running... driving?.... shooting?... talking?... zombies. These are all a barrel of laughs. The indirect 3 or 4 sequels to Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE aka ZOMBI 2 are classic "so bad it's good" cheesefests in of themselves. I'll probably post em up at a later time.

Oh, any dead links lemme know and I'll see if I can find an alternative link. And am taking requests too.

Jinky, can you find the last edition to our unholy Italian gutmuncher cheesefests, NIGHTMARE CITY? Munch appreciated. Wink

This was a fortunate find, one of my favorite Asian horror films ranking right up there with Audition and A Tale Of Two Sisters.

This horror anthology TRICK R TREAT has been shelved by Warner Bros since 2007, and despite rumours of a October 2008 / early 2009 theatrical release it never materialized. It is finally getting a STV DVD release next month in October. Looks cool check out the trailer below, along with ZOMBIELAND it is one my more anticipated horror films as of late.

THE ECHO is the American remake of Yam Laranas' SIGAW. Laranas directed the American remake too. SIGAW has garnered quite a cult following much like the J-Horror film NOROI THE CURSE as being very scary or at least very creepy. With 111 votes, THE ECHO ranks at a high 7.2/10 on IMDb and receiving positive reviews. Below are four alternative 2 parter links.

What about H.P. Lovecraft based movies? Reanimator was cool, but there was another one I can't remember the name of that wasn't bad. Late 80's, early 90's. Cthulhu Mansion maybe?

Ever see either version of the Dunwich Horror? Dean Stockwell played Whateley in the original, then he played an investigator in the remake. Both are equally horrible.

Here are some of the finer ones but yes, HPL rarely translates well to film:

From Beyond
The Unnameable 1 & 2
Necronomicon
Dagon
The Call of Cthulhu

And lets not forget, John Carpenter's In The Mouth Of Madness is heavily inspired by H P Lovecraft and to a lesser extent his other film Prince of Darkness too.

I think it was In The Mouth Of Madness that I was thinking of. Yeah, it's sad Lovecraft's stories rarely get a good film adaptation. His stories are cool because the good guy rarely wins (more realism) and it shows how weak the human race really is. I'd like to see them make a movie out of "The Haunter Of The Dark".

Ever see that independent version of The Call Of Cthulhu that came out a few years ago? Pretty cool.

Yep, that is the film, I have the DVD, produced by the HPL Historical Society.

There is a excellent Roger Corman directed adaptation of "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" from the 60s falsely marketed by the studio as Poe's The Haunted Palace that's well worth a look. It stars screen legend Vincent Price in dual roles as Charles Dexter Ward / Joseph Curwen.

THE HAUNTED PALACE (The Case of Charles Dexter Ward)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (alt)

Creepshow has one story strongly inspired by "The Colour Out of Space" that starred the writer Stephen King too.

This youtube member's channel has alot of uploaded HPL based movies:

The new teaser trailer for A Nightmare On Elm Street remake slated for a April 10, 2010 release.

Doesn't look like anything spectacular or special, Jackie Earl Haley (Rorschach of the "Watchmen") simply doesn't examplify the same level of energy as Robert Englund and looks to be a rather faithful remake unfortunately.

THEY NEED TO LEAVE THE CLASSICS ALONE! REMAKE AFTER REMAKE...ITS SO BAD THEYRE NOW MAKING REMAKES OF A REMAKE, THE THING COMES TO MIND, THE 50's AND 80's THE THING WAS CLASSIC WHY MESS WITH THAT? ITS SO BAD THAT TV COMMERCIALS SHOW MORE STORY THAN SOME OF THESE REMAKES...I UNDERSTAND TRYING TO BRING CLASSIC HORROR TO THE NEW GEN BUT COME ON, THE REMAKE OF JASON WAS OK AT BEST.

THE NEW ELM STREET LOOKS GOOD BUT IM NOT THE BIGGIST FAN OF MICHAEL BAY's WORK.

I blame it on a lack of originality and the studios greedily knowing they can cash in on the brand of the classics. They don't care "let's make some money". And the plain fact, today's horror directors overall can't touch the talent and vision of yesterday's. Every title in a studio's catalogue is going to have a remake. It really tarnishes the prestige of the original and floods the home video industry with alot of crappy CGI and teen slasher movies.

Oh btw, I seen Zombieland today. It was okay, I was alittle disappointed and comparisions with "Shaun of the Dead" is not really fair however I like "Shaun" more. But there is a great Bill Murray cameo.
