Man suspected of fatally shooting boy

ONTARIO - Police on Thursday night arrested a man on suspicion of fatally shooting a 16-year-old boy that evening.
The suspect's name was not immediately released.

He was arrested on suspicion of shooting 16-year-old Carlos Celis of Ontario, said police Officer Derek Anthony.

The suspect was described only as a man in his early 20s.

Carlos died at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland at 7:35 p.m. Thursday after being shot once in the back, police and the San Bernardino County Coroner's Department said.

The boy was riding a skateboard in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue at 6:50 p.m. when he was shot. Police found the boy lying on the sidewalk.

Police were told the shooter was seen inside an apartment in the 400 block of North Parkside Avenue.

Police have not found the weapon used in the shooting.

Anthony said the suspect is possibly a gang member, but they do not have a motive.

"It doesn't appear as if the victim is a gang member," Anthony said.

Investigators do not believe the victim and the suspect knew each other, he said.

The suspect has been booked into West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.

A young man died after he was shot in Ontario on Thursday night.

Ontario police responded to the area of Virginia Avenue and D Street at 6:58 p.m. to a reported shooting.

When they arrived, they found a man lying on the sidewalk on Virgina north of E Street suffering from at least one gunshot wound, said Ontario police Officer Bill Russell.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

The age of the victim was not immediately available. He appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s, Russell said. Investigators are unsure if the shooting is gang related.

The shooting is under investigation.

I have a tio who is a detective in LA and he has told me stories of busting people just on "suspicion" of what they say online. Before people could joke and play the "I was just kidding" card, but now, chale homie, your posts and IP address is just as good as a confession and you being in person. The computer age has caught up with the court system and judicial system and many people are getting busted over what the put out there.
