Raids target Vagos Motorcycle gang
Authorities announced today the takedown of the Vagos Motorcycle gang during a sweep through Riverside County.
The Riverside County Gang Task Force and more than 60 other agencies conducted raids in Hemet and throughout Riverside County spanning to Northern California and the Oregon border, according to the Riverside County district attorney's office.
About 30 Vagos members were arrested Wednesday. Police estimate 200 members from the gang exists in Riverside County and 400 other members in California. A meth lab was also found in Lake Elsinore.
Authorities have not confirmed or denied if the Vagos were suspected in three attacks on the Hemet-San Jacinto Valley gang task force since December.
Hemet police have said officers were increasing enforcement on the gang in December.
The first attempted assassination on officers occurred Dec. 31 and followed a Vagos funeral next door to the gang task force office.
