dont know if any of you have seen this blog spot but they post some interesting articles and some of the people that post on there are old timer c/o's detectives and some eme drop outs and other bangers.they got some good history and alot of names of older veteranos. I came across this article about the formation of the NF on there and it talked about how some of the original members were from sur califas. trip out on it. Not saying its all true but im sure some things will spark up some talk on these boards.

The original NF founders were indeed predominately Southern California gang members - Freddy Gonzalez from San Diego, John "Little John" from Little Valley (L.A.), Bruce "Huero" Morgan from West Side Clanton (L.A.), and Gonzalo "Chalo" Hernandez.
"Retired Joker" cites a web site that accurately lists the original NF founders and none of these people were EME dropouts.
It is interesting to note that Gonzalo "Chalo" Hernandez and Rudy "Cheyenne" Cadena (EME shot caller who was later killed in Palm Hall by the NF in 1972) were home boys (from Bakersfield) and both their parents migrated from El Paso, Texas.
Chalo and Cheyenne forged an EME-NF truce in early-1971 which lasted about six months.
The major players in organizing the northern California convicts were NF's "Chalo" Hernandez, "Death Row" Joe Gonzalez, Robert "Babo" Sosa and members of the Maravilla gang.
Louie Araujo (Hoyo Mara), Ernie "Neto" Varela (Ford Mara), and Abraham "Abie" Reyes (Ford Mara) were principal players in maintaining the anti-EME sentiment on the prison yards.
As the years passed, L.A. gang members who previously resented EME's oppressiveness, pulled away from supporting the NF because their homeboys could not identify with nortenos.
Much of their criminal "history" was with the south and this geographical polarization slowly evolved into the present-day
north-south rivalry.
By effectively keeping the nortenos separated from the surenos, the prison staff unknowingly created a scenario in which each group became stronger as their control took hold with no effective resistance to interfere with the spreading of the North and South Gospel according to the NF and the EME.
Until an NF expert decides to author a true NF timeline, this web site (http://www.geocities.com/jiggy2000_us/familiatimeline.html)
is about as close to accurate as it's going to get.
Very minor discrepancies:
1)James "Sonny" Pena was not a northerner; he was from El Hoyo Maravilla and he was killed by EME's Robert "Robot" Salas.
2)An EME associate (not a member) by the name of Archie "Cricket" Gallego from the Diamond gang in L.A., was killed by NF's "Babo" Sosa, Tomas "Poyo" Montoya and Marty from Oakland. The 1968 Shoe War produced about equal injuries on both sides (actual EME made members who remained on the mainline were Ramon "Ponchi" Amdado and Luis "Bala" Talamantez).

Yeah Ive talked to Huero and DxT about this in the chat before. We were thinking that in the begining NF and EME wasn't strictly about North and South. But over some time NF became strictly Nortern Cali. Good Find BtW

Yeah, someone said they saw an older pic of a NF member on some gang doc TV show or something, and the guy had "CUCA" or "Cucamonga" tatted on his stomach. Which of course, Cucamonga is Southern Cali IE. But back then I guess things were different.

You wouldn't happen to have the addy to that blog, would you?

I have read similar accounts through other sources it appears La Eme divided loyalties not everyone embraced them back then and of course the southern gangsters and La Eme members discriminated and looked down their noses at the northern gangsters too in what evolved into the Nuestra Familia. Some gangs have proven to resent this accountability like the beef with Maravilla for example maybe more than will admit. I have learned through Tom Diaz's blog they have gotten transnational connections with the Mexican cartels. I don't want to underaddress neither overaddress their power but they extort taxes over the surenos under the pretense they rule alot of prisons where the greenlight is most assuredly enforced (that is in the pen) but they can easily outside too all it requires is loyal surenos soldier(s) or one of their own representives on the outside. Well I don't need to explain all this geez louweeze.

I HEARD that there were a number of fools who were in NF, espescially in Chino, the city, not just the prison. Wish I knew more to help clarify some things...

COULD BE, ALOT OF VARRIOS HAVE HISTORY WE WILL NEVER KNOW ABOUT OR IN THIS CASE A VARRIO MIGHT BE ASHAMED ABOUT, SO THE TRUTH WILL NEVER BE 100%...LIKE CRAY SAID THERE WAS A VATO WITH CUCAMONGA AND NF TATTED ON HIM ON SOME DOC SO I WOULDNT BE SURPRISED. THE THING I HEAR (OVER THE NET SO YEAH LOL) IS THAT THE SINNERS, THE WHOLE VARRIO GOT THE GREEN BUT THAT SEEMS KINDA OFF.
