20 year old man shot to death in Fontana 7/11/16

A 20-year-old Fontana man was shot to death at a residence in the 15600 block of Portends Drive in northwestern Fontana on July 11, according to the Fontana Police Department.
At about 9:52 p.m., some men showed up at the house, where a small gathering was taking place. The men attempted to go in but were denied entry. One of the men then shot into the home several times, police said.
A man who was inside the house suffered gunshot wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

----- DURING the past two months, there have been five homicides reported in Fontana, an unusually high number. The previous incidents were:
• On July 5, a teenager was shot to death at Bill Martin Park. Four suspects have been arrested in connection with that incident.
• On July 1, a man was killed at his residence, and his brother was arrested on suspicion of murder.
• On June 25, a man was shot to death while walking along a street in eastern Fontana.
• On June 11, a man was shot to death in western Fontana.
There has been no confirmation regarding whether any of the murders
