the u.s war machine goes in cycles

like every 8 to 10 years for any mayor entanglement

whenever you have a long drawn out mision like korea, vietnam, iraq one, iraq 2 and afghanistan
then it's time to cool off and chill for a few years

so no, it'll be a while before another long term war happens

i think right now, not only the u.s. but also most other western powers are on a peacenik row
economics are getting revamped, and nobody cares for flexing their muscles over seas right now

believe me thee, no one wants to go in there and mess with iran
persia would be 10 times worse to tangle with, than iraq and afghanistan
just remember what happened in beirut lebanon in the early 80s

but yeah, there will be minor misions and operations that can and willl happen on and off
but no big conflict that would require thousands upon thousands of boots on the ground
