FONTANA -- A man was struck and killed by a train in Fontana Friday evening, San Bernardino County Fire officials confirmed.
The unidentified man was struck around 5 p.m. Friday in the 15900 block of Ceres Avenue, officials said.

It's unclear what the man was doing on the tracks when he was struck. It was not immediately clear if the train was a passenger or cargo vehicle.

More to come.

A man who ignored screams to get off the railroad tracks was killed Friday, Oct. 26, when he was struck by a Metrolink train in Fontana, police said.
Fontana police Sgt. Mike Senior said a man in his late 40s or early 50s was lying on the tracks about a mile and a half west of the Fontana train station just before 5 p.m. People who saw him from the backyard of a home yelled at him to get up, Senior said.
Witnesses said the man looked at the people but made no effort to move, Senior said. Train 318 then hit the man, who was not carrying identification.
The tracks were closed during the investigation, and buses transported stranded passengers, Metrolink reported on its website. San Bernardino Line trains were delayed.

Doesn't seem like a pleasant way to commit suicide.
