RELIGION

Post  wolfman on Sat Jan 25, 2014 7:29 pm

La Religion

What's yours?

You can take yours back in time 'til you can't carbon date it anymore., or you can view it on the tv monitor these days still..

What's your religion today!? IEStreetLife, TV Sitcoms, Sports, Education, Money, Politics, Ethnicity, Hoods, Mota, Philosophy, What?

What do you take your hats off to?., what kind of flea collar do you wear around your neck this day and age?

What keeps you up.,  what keeps you from going right under?

RELIGION comes in way too many shapes and forms..

wondering what yours comes disguised as

ES TODO

I BEG TO DIFFER., RELIGION IS MAN MADE!

RELIGION AS MOST PEOPLE WOULD THINK OF, IS SOMETHING LIKE CATHOLICISM, JEHOVAS WITNESS, MORMONISM, ISLAM, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT., BUT NEVER EVER DOES SOCIETY EVER THINK OF RELIGION IN TERMS OF POLITICS, POLITICAL PARTIES, ATHLETICS, SPORTS, MILITARY SERVICE, CONSUMERISM, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT., EVEN THOUGH IN FACT, RELIGION IS EXACTLY ALL OF THAT MENTIONED.

I think of politics as a religion. I have been saying for the longest that voting, elections, party warfare or rivalries, and mythologies about historic events or past rulers are all religious in nature.

I see religion as something faith based. Faith is something I can never hang my hat on in any serious way. Believing in something "just cause" doesn't cut it.

I like the idea of being guided by reason, logic and facts. Religion operates outside of that, although I realize many try their best to merge the two.

These days I respect humility in the face of all hard questions above all else.

With all that said, I've also  come to appreciate Christianity as I see it in a different light. Some would argue that Christianity helped build this modern civilization and has deeply influenced social and moral norms. A few years ago I may have scoffed at this thought.

ah but you see, youre still equating religion solely in the faith based camp when in reality you should start looking it at it as a political machination., the state is part of the religion and vise versa., they are from one and the same, both are man made, and when the status quo changes within a nation, then the religion of the state changes to something else., yet they both supply the same opium to the masses., but christianity in its pure and simple form is outside of all that religious catholic, orthodox, protestant, coptic or whatever other mainstream lineage of christian thought., true christianity is non-christian, per sey

Well, as I've come to understand so far, -because i'm still on a learning quest- is that Christianity today in its many forms is really alien to the "first Christians" in that those first ones were still "Jewish," hence ~> non-gentile with its many mystery religions who came to incorporate themselves into the growing church and finally taking it over as "Roman Catholicism and its baby Protestantism."

Jesus did not come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it., it is not that we live under the Law, but that we are fulfilled in the Law by the grace of God in the Christ (Messiah).

But then all things got twisted up, became religious dogma, political manifestations and such which either used or took over the faith of the poor, and used it to its benefit, still till this very day. The true church was called the POOR, because its membership was primarily of the ranks of the poor and downtrodden, the sick, the slave, the outcasts of society and the like. You read about them in the book of acts, and well as in other epistles. They are called the poor in Jerusalem, and the apostle Peter, together with Jesus brother James, presided over the congregation until the dispensation when the Roman Legions besieged Jerusalem and razed it to the ground. The Poor then fled to the region of Damascus, into the hills where they became known as the Ebionites, still others as the Nazareans (not the Nazarenes of later Christianity).

When the Established Christian Church became orthodox in its dogma and theology, it began to squash everyone else and labelled them as "heretics." Thus the marriage of the harlot (the church) with the beast (the rulers) became in effect a reality, and thus no longer the image of God on earth, but representative of the old Nimrod religion of sun worship.

If you follow me so far, you will understand that i am heading towards the "trinity." That is what lies at the bottom of why I said that Christianity today is really "non-Christian."

If you don't follow the first and foremost commandment, how can you call yourself a disciple of Jesus?
