Two cousins shot at bus stop, one killed

Two cousins sitting at a bus stop were shot Wednesday night, and one was killed.

Bobby Dontae Brookins, 23, of Rialto, was found dead on the sidewalk when police arrived at the bus stop in the 500 block of North Arrowhead Avenue, a few blocks north of the San Bernardino courthouse.

His cousin, 19-year-old Byron Glass, San Bernardino, was found with a gunshot wound at Sixth and D streets about 10:10 p.m. Glass was released from the hospital Thursday afternoon.

No motive for the shooting has been determined, and no one has been arrested, detectives said. Neither cousin was a documented gang member.

Police said the two cousins were in the 500 block of North Arrowhead when they were approached by two people who shot them.

The family declined to comment Thursday, saying it was too painful to speak so soon after the shooting.
