San Bernardino: Two shot and killed Tuesday (IE Projects)
SAN BERNARDINO - Two men were shot and killed Tuesday outside a West Ninth Street home while six children were inside.
Floyd Walker Jr., 33, and Billy Blevins, 38, both of San Bernardino, became the victims of the city's 29th and 30th deaths.
Police arrived on scene shortly after 2:45 p.m. after receiving reports of multiple shots heard, said police spokesman Lt. Paul Williams. "The motive is unclear as of now."
Police say the home, in the 1500 block of West Ninth Street, was where Walker lived with his children. It's unknown if there are others that live there.
A woman at the scene who wanted to remain anonymous out of fear of
retaliation said that Blevins was on his way home at the time of the shooting.
Police said the two were arguing with someone just prior to shots ringing out.
It is unclear whether this shooting is gang-related, according to police.
"None of the children were hurt," Williams said. He said the children did not witness the crime.
"Department of Child Protective Services came to take the children to a safe place while detectives investigated the crime scene."
"Just look at all these gangsters driving by," said a man at the scene, referring to vehicles driving by. "They're trying to figure out if it was their homies that died. Tonight won't be a safe night to be out in the hood that's for sure."
