FONTANA: Man shot in both legs

A car-to-car shooting left a 21-year-old Fontana man wounded in both legs and police with few clues in what they say may have been a gang-related attack.

The gunfire erupted at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, along the 9500 block of Fontana Avenue.

The victim was the front-seat passenger in a Cadillac SUV driven by his 20-year-old cousin, said Sgt. Robert Morris. A 13-year-old girl was in the rear seat.

Several bullets hit the Cadillac, apparently fired from a small-caliber handgun by someone in what was described only as a dark sedan, investigators say.

One of the Cadillac’s occupants recalled hearing what may have been a gang slogan shouted immediately before the gunfire, Morris said. Police have no description of the assailant.
