A man who was apparently trying to make passing motorists think that he is Bigfoot paid for the ruse with his life when he was run over by two cars on highway in northwestern Montana Sunday night.
The Montana Highway Patrol said the victim, identified as 44-year-old Randy Lee Tenley was wearing a military-style ‘Ghillie suit’ and was standing in the right-hand lane of U.S. Highway 93 south of Kalispell when he was hit by the first car Sunday night.
A second car rolled over Tenley as he lay in the roadway. He suffered massive trauma and died at the scene, The Missoulian reported.

Trooper Jim Schneider told the Daily Inter Lake that the man’s friends said Tenley was trying to convince passing motorists that they saw the mythic Bigfoot.
‘He was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting,’ Schneider said. ‘You can’t make it up. I haven’t seen or heard of anything like this before.

Police said Tenley positioned himself in the middle of the right lane in a spot where drivers could not see him, especially the way he was dressed, according to ABC Montana.
Ghillie suits are a type of full-body clothing made to resemble heavy foliage and used to camouflage military snipers.

‘He probably would not have been very easy to see at all,’ Schneider told KECI-TV.
The patrol says Tenley was struck by vehicles driven by two Somers girls, ages 15 and 17, who were unable to stop in time.

Troopers said alcohol may have played a role in the tragic accident, although they are still waiting on toxicology results to see if Tenley was drunk at the time.
