San Bernardino father behind bars for reportedly fracturing infant's skull

SAN BERNARDINO -- A 20-year-old San Bernardino father was arrested Friday for allegedly fracturing his 3-month-old's skull, San Bernardino Police officials said.
Kalon Correy Deaton was arrested on suspicion of child abuse after his son was taken to the hospital and emergency room staff determined the baby had several broken bones including a fractured skull, according to a news release.

An unidentified person took the baby boy to Loma Linda University Medical Center because the child was acting lethargic, officials said. Medical personnel discovered the child's injuries and contact police.

After an investigation, Deaton, the baby's father, was arrested. It was unclear if the child's mother is suspected in any abuse or is she may be arrested in the future, according to police authorities.

He was booked into West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and his being held on $500,000 bail.
