Microsoft Xbox One VS Sony Playstation 4 Comparison
Though it has been seen that both the consoles have many similar aspects and will definitely take gaming experience to the next level for the users but it is in the finer details where both look different. Let’s take a look at the internal system that is expected to be employed by both the consoles. Sony is boasting about the use of magnificent 8GB GDDR5 RAM while Microsoft has put in its Xbox the 8GB DDR3 Ram. While PS4 reserves up to 3.5GB of memory for OS (according to the documentation) and 4.5GB for developers, it’s not being guaranteed. Xbox one devotes 3GB to its OS and almost guaranteed 5GB for a developer which does not make up for DDR3 memory usage.
Both these consoles are basically using two different variations of systems, but CPUs that are being used is the product of the same company, AMD. They are using x86 octa-core CPUs. The only difference in the processor will be the fact that Xbox one will be using a modified version of eight-core AMD processor while PS4 will take it power from x86-64 Jaguar CPU. Earlier Microsoft was using IBM PowerPC processor while Sony was using a complicated cell processor developed in the partnership with Toshiba and IBM.
Both the consoles are relying on AMD again who is developing the gen-next graphic processor for them. PS4 is employing semi-custom AMD Radeon graphic processor that runs at 1.8 TFLOPS. Xbox one will utilize a DirectX 11.1 support and embrace the GPU according to the system-on-a-chip design. The PS4 is also designed on the same line with AMD CPU being combined with GPU.
It is hard to distinguish between the performances of both these consoles. However, much could be said about their performance only when the next-gen consoles is up in the market for sales. Till than the gamers will have to simply wait and hope for the best.

Both of them are using pretty weak hardware compared to what high-end gaming PC's are using these days, but if you're looking for the more powerful console this time around, PS4 is the way to go.
