Contrary to popular belief, Mexico and El Salvador are actually considered to be countries which are in a developmental state, not "third world". Most of the worlds "third world" nations are situated in Africa, and certain parts of south east Asia. Don't mean to stray off topic, just wanted to point that out.

Carlos Slim is his name, and he's worth more then Bill Gates. And you're right, Mexico has places like the capital city which are very developed.

A lot of people seem to believe in the claim that Latin America is some sort of wasteland dump where nothing but narc-trafficking exists, but in reality, countries like Brazil, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Puerto Rico, Mexico etc., are all very well off economically speaking.

Brazil especially, has been refereed to as an economic "sleeping giant". Have y'all ever seen videos of Brasilia, Brazil's capital city? It's one of the most architecturally advanced cities in the world. Makes NY look like Disneyland by comparison.
