A person was shot in the leg during an incident in Fontana on April 2, according to the Fontana Police Department.
The shooting took place in the 9200 block of Wheeler Avenue when two males who were driving by saw the victim and three additional subjects standing near the sidewalk.

The suspects stopped and the passenger got out of the car and confronted the victim and his friends.
The suspect who had exited the vehicle brandished a handgun and fired several shots, striking the victim once in the leg. The suspects then fled the area in an unknown direction.
The victim was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
During the police investigation, one of the subjects, 19-year-old Angel Baez, who was with the victim, was arrested on a separate weapons violation at the scene and was booked. Baez is not believed to be responsible for the shooting.
Investigators believe the shooting may be gang-related and is still under investigation.
