San Bernadino man killed at 10th and Mount Vernon.

SAN BERNARDINO >> The man shot and killed as he sat in his car late Wednesday night has been identified as 28-year-old Alejandro Sanchez Herrera of San Bernardino, police said Thursday morning.

Herrera was shot at least once as he sat in his green Honda, which was stopped at the intersection of 10th Street and Mount Vernon Avenue, according to San Bernardino police. Paramedics took Herrera to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he later died.

A motive for the shooting has not been released. It's also not clear if Herrera was the intended target.

The 28-year-old's death marks the 43rd homicide for the city. Last year there were 44, including the 14 people killed on Dec. 2 during the Inland Regional Center terror attack.

The last homicide took place a short distance from Wednesday's slaying.

On July 27, exactly two weeks before Herrera was killed, John Eric Ramirez, 24, of San Bernardino was shot and killed on Seventh Street and Mount Vernon Avenue at La Plaza Park.

I know a few people that went to high school with the guy that was killed and he wasn't a gang member or trouble maker at all. Nobody knows why he would get targeted.

Lots of these killings make no sense what so ever.

Makes you wonder. Was it a attemptive car jacking? Road rage? Random??

I do know a lot of stuff is going on in the WSV hoods right now and the west side in general. Could of been mistaken identity or random attack by the crazies in this city.

Mistaken identity is all too common. Specially with all these youngsters doped up out of their minds.
