SAN BERNARDINO >> A man is in serious but stable condition Wednesday after becoming the most recent victim of gun violence here Tuesday night.

Christopher Canady Jr., 29 of San Bernardino, was gunned down outside the Motel 7 in the 1300 block of North E Street just after 6 p.m., his father confirmed Tuesday night.

Police said the shooting was caught on surveillance video from a local business, but they're unable to identify the shooter from that video.

When officers arrived, they found Canady barely alive laying halfway in the street.

Canady, who's no stranger to law enforcement, was convicted of receiving stolen property while on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) in February 2016. He was removed from county supervision and sent to Glen Helen Detention Center to serve his sentence. He was released in November, jail records show.
