Jury Urges Death for Gang Member
This is related to what I was saying in the other section. Found the article on it.
Jury Urges Death for Gang Member
February 05, 2002 in print edition B-4
A Los Angeles Superior Court jury on Monday recommended the death penalty for a gang member accused of a series of murders in 1995 from Washington state to the Los Angeles area.
Run Peter Chhoun, 29, the suspected leader of the San Bernardino-based Tiny Rascals, was convicted last month, along with co-defendant Samreth Sam Pan, 25, of the murders of three people in Los Angeles County and Sacramento.
A jury last week recommended that Pan be sentenced to death.
Chhoun and Pan were found guilty of murdering Nghiep Thich Le, 48, and his father, Hung Dieu Le, 73, of Sacramento during a home invasion robbery; and Miguel Vargas Avina, 20, of Pomona.
Authorities have said Avina was shot because Chhoun and Pan mistakenly thought he was a rival gang member.
The two also were convicted of burglarizing and robbing the Le home and of the attempted murder of Nghiep Le’s wife, Quyen Luu, 49, who was shot in the hip.
Chhoun is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Robert Perry on March 12. Sentencing for Pan is scheduled March 13.
Besides the Los Angeles and Sacramento cases, Chhoun has been sentenced to death on his conviction for the August 1995 home-invasion murders of a family of five in a San Bernardino County case.
He and Pan also have been sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of a rival gang member in San Bernardino County that same month.
Chhoun also has been charged with the murders of a Spokane, Wash., couple in July 1995. That case is pending.

Another article.
On Aug. 10, five members of a Vietnamese family were found slain in their San Bernardino home. Samreth Pan, an 18-year-old Cambodian national who was the alleged gunman, was arrested last Friday in Southern California on murder and robbery charges.
Yesterday, two more suspects were charged in the quintuple homicide: Nhung Thi Tran, 19, of San Bernardino, and a 16-year-old Corona, Calif., boy. Tran is alleged to have known the victims and helped to set up the robbery, while the Corona youth allegedly drove Pan to and from the scene, according to David Whitney, a San Bernardino County prosecutor.
Whitney said two others already in custody for a July 27 double-homicide in Sacramento County also are expected to face murder charges in the quintuple homicide: Run Chhoun, 22, of San Bernardino and a 16-year-old Pomona boy.
Chhoun and the juvenile are charged with killing two members of a Viet-Chinese family and wounding a third by shooting them with a 9mm gun in their apartment south of Sacramento.
All five of the suspects are reputed members of a Southeast Asian gang, police said.
Investigators also are examining whether the suspects are connected to two other homicides in San Bernardino on Aug. 3 and 6 and a double-homicide in Spokane on July 10.

The first ones I ever met and hung out with lived in loma linda (oakeyville/okieville? and around park ave.). I also met some that lived in the second meridians. I'm not sure about their relationship with other cambodians.

Yeah, back then the females called them selves Lady Rascal Gang...the incident where they murdered the whole family of 5 in Okieville started with a Vietnamese female from this gang, who just so happened to lived right next door to this family of 5. She was on some cold blooded shit, and asked one of the kids of that family if they had money inside the house...the kid was very young and didn't know the scheme she was up to, and told her that his family did in fact have money inside the house...that's when she gave out the word to her gang, the TRGs...and that's when it all happened. They did have a couple Mexicans, KC was one of them.

Re: Jury Urges Death for Gang Member
I don't really think anyone on here knows what Okieville is, what is Okieville Paid?
Re: Jury Urges Death for Gang Member
Okieville is the old neighborhood on the borderline of SB and Loma Linda. I touched up on it in some of the other threads. The Western portion of Okieville (Richardson and everything West of it) where the Temple and all the Cambodians stay at is San Bernardino. The Eastern portion of it (everything East of Richardson) is under Loma Linda. It's basically a runned down unincorporated area, the one you were talking bout North of the 10 freeway, with no sidewalks and shit. I'm sure a few of us around this way know this spot. It's pretty much within walking distance from the "Valley".
