Re: top three..nba
Jordan will always be the best in my eyes, despite some of his achievements and records being broke on occasion. His character, poise, and leadership and swagger set him apart from anyone that's ever played the game.
Jordan was the best of his era/generation. Out of all players in the league with in the last decade or so, none have come any closer to MJ in his abilities to parallel him more than Kobe Bryant in my view. There very similar in styles of play, the distinct looking stroke that they both have, the ability to close out tight games and the ability to carry there team when need be, the heart of a champion, the killer instinct and that drive for settling for nothing less than a "W" and so on.
Kobe is a more prolific scorer, and he's surpassed alot of MJ's achievements in that department, but some voids that he hasn't done as of yet, Jordan will always have his legacy and career that will remain untouched as a living legend.

Re: top three..nba
I'll mention Lebron in the mix when he has a few titles a bit more prestige, more maturity and a more efficient stroke under his belt which can only be seen in years time. The stage is set for him once Kobe is gone, it will be his house. Until then he will be riding under the coat tail of Kobe which is the greatest of this era.

LOL yeah it's just that hearing about those 100 points in one game, it's just hard to forget Wilt was a pretty horrible free throw shooter just like Shaq

Re: top three..nba
There was also no 3 seconds in the lane violations back then, the defense was nowhere near the level that it is today and from what I understand Wilt had a large majority of his shots during that game around the rim plus other things that played factor into him being able to get 100. That's why it's noted among analysist that Kobe's 81 is more impressive because he managed to do it in this day and age and as a shooting guard.

Re: top three..nba
I thought you was saying give an opinion of your own top three? I know dudes like Bill russell, Wilt Chamberlin and Jerry West are among the greatest, but they not from my time nor did I see them play growing up, that's why I can't list those guys.

I DID..AND I BASED MY OPINION ON STATS....
Re: top three..nba
OH..AND BECAUSE KOBE IS THE GREATEST....I THREW IN KOBE BECAUSE WELL.....NO REASON....BECAUSE I CAN!!!!
Top 3.5
1. Wilt - He changed the game like nobody before or since. He could do everything but shoot free throws. 7' 1 and led the league in assists one year, averaged 40+ minutes for his career in addition to the rebounds and blocked shots. I know most say Jordan because they grew up watching him but Wilt did things at 7'1 Jordan never dreamed of.
2. Oscar Robertson - The greatest rookie season ever 30 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Has 181 career triple double games, far and away the most dominate guard ever.
3. Bill Russell - It's all about winning and nobody did it better than Russell. 11 rings and 5 MVP awards. This is with Wilt and the Big O in the League. His career scoring average isn't impressive at 15 per but his 22 rebounds per night puts him the elite class.
3.5 Michael Jordan - Jordan doesn't rank higher because Wilt and the Big O's stats blow him away and Russell was the games greatest winner and leader. Jordan's stats blew everybody else in his era but the fact that David Stern's NBA changed the rules to suit Jordan's game detracts from his accomplishments in my mind the same way that the current stats in baseball with HGH and steroids take the shine and luster off those playing now. Jordan was money in the clutch but put his stats against those of Wilt, Robertson and even Bill Russell pale in comparison.
