Man shot in SB over ciggarette

A 71-year-old man out for a walk early Tuesday was shot in the face by a man who asked him for a cigarette.
Police said the gunman approached the victim while he was walking near the corner of Edgehill and Circle roads at 5:20 a.m.

"The guy asked him for a cigarette or something of that nature and without provokation, he pulled out a gun and fired," said San Bernardino police Lt. Jarrod Burguan. "The victim turned and ran and the shooter fired several more shots."

The first bullet struck the victim in his teeth, but the next three to five shots missed him.

Police received 9-1-1 calls from the victim and his wife. The shooter ran the opposite direction and was last seen meeting up with several other people.

They fled the area together, Burguan said.

Paramedics took the victim to a hospital for treatment. "He was conscious and breathing and talking," Burguan said.

The shooter is a Latino man in his 20s. He wore a dark hooded sweatshirt. Police said witnesses did not see him take off in a vehicle.

It's actually kinda close to the 210 still, type in circle and Edgehill into google maps and it'll show u the exact location. The nieghborhood looks super nice, im sure they are really trippin over that shit.

Yeh its that part surcal. Its funny that whole little area. THat area is generally a nice area with some homes in the higher realm of six figures. But right at the corner is E and 34th and that area isn't the nicest all that part of e st. is pretty active. THe police have been heavy in this whole area since this happened they always post at the gas station on 33rd and E. Never did that before.
