Two men are shot while being involved in an argument in Fontana

Two men were shot while being involved in an argument in Fontana early Monday morning, according to the Fontana Police Department.

At about 12:20 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 9500 block of Madrona Drive regarding a disturbance. Once at the location, officers discovered a man who had been shot. As the officers began their investigation at the scene, they were notified that another man suffering from a gunshot wound had just been dropped off at a local hospital.

The initial investigation revealed that both men were visiting the Madrona residence when an argument began. One of the men pulled out a handgun. Both men then began fighting for the gun. During the fight, both men were shot. One of the men was driven to a local hospital by a third person who was at the home, while the other wounded man was left at the location. An anonymous person nearby heard the man calling for help and notified police.

Both men are currently receiving medical treatment at local hospitals. Their conditions and exact injuries are currently unknown; however, the injuries do not appear to be life threatening, police said.
