A 25-year-old Fontana man was shot as he was driving on a street in central Fontana on May 16, according to the Fontana Police Department.

The victim was driving eastbound in the 16200 block of Ivy Avenue at 8:36 p.m. when the incident occurred, police said.

A gunman fired into the driver's side of the victim's vehicle, striking him in the back and hand. No other information about the victim's condition was immediately available.

The victim told police he did not know the suspect, who was described as a man between the ages of 18 and 20, 5-foot-8, and 180-200 pounds.

(Although this was at night time.)
