All the norte's i've chopped it up with, down here and up north, all looked and talked no different from the sur's i've known. Thats just my experience with them. All the REAL ones, i'm saying. And the sur's down here be saying NIGGA too, so thats no different either. Not saying i've EVER heard any norte's say that. I've also met PLENTY of sur's who sag also. Really no difference to me, from either sur or norte, but thats just from my own personal experience.

If you dont mind me saying so, how many sur's in here talking down on these norte's have ACTUALLY been face to face with some? Naturally, i'm ONLY going to assume, if you have, that was either in jail or you lived up there. And if you lived up there, you should know better to say they all act or dress a certain way. I'm not talking about what you've seen on the internet or nothing like that, that has no value to what is real. I'm talking about real live face to face, in their neighborhoods or chopping it up with some REAL norte's. How many of you sur's in here can say that you've actually, HONESTLY, have been face to face with some real norte's?

And i'm not defending norte, because i have no attatchment to them or sur, i could care less, i'm just a child of facts and speaking on some real shit. ALOT of people talk down on shit they know nothing about personally and that bothers me. But again, this is internet, none of this is real life. lol. i'm just saying...

i know I can say i have been face to face with some REAL norte's, at the same party kickin back drinking & everything, it was a homie's wedding, he has family from up north in SanJo and they're straight flamed up, mullet having, tatted up with the huelga eagle above the eyebrow & everything, yeah they dont bang anymore they're older but there are differences, u cant say that south siders & norte's are the same because it's two completely different regions. i have been up to SanJo for a while and i've been at car shows and parties and so on and i've met some that are on the whole sur norte trip and others that come at me with respect. it all depends on who u deal with.
on top of that yes i've also been face to face with them in stark & norwalk reception CYA. i've had plenty of run-ins with these norte's. and to be honest with the older ones i do see some similarities when it comes to the dress code yeah they sport the red black & khaki but aside from that its pretty much the same. the younger dudes i met we're all into the hip-hop and brotha style u know, when it comes to speaking and dress code.
the difference is yeah theyre might be southsiders that sag but that shit shoun be allowed its usually the taggers turned gangsters that do that shit but in actual old varrios sagging is looked down on and isnt allowed as far as i know. up north theres nothing that says dont sag they just dont care and to me sagging is like having no pride cuz u have no pride in how u dress or look. i havent met southsiders that say nigga to be honest and i've had norte's call me nigga like that and i've heard them talking and thats just how they flat out talk, like they're straight brothas not that theres anything wrong with that but they claim that they are true chicano's and still go ahead and speak in a manner that is not at all chicano. theres plenty of differences between norte and sur. not all are the same tho, but the majority of them are a style that is completely different than the southsiders style whether its the way we act, talk, or dress but we are different.

I have to agree with Jae to some extent, I can tell the difference usually because of the dress code, the way they talk and attitude. Surenos normally dress more traditionally however, there are plenty of northerners who if you didnt know where they were from or if they went down south they would blend right in perfectly. Other than the color red, most northeners look like most southerners. Up here, if you look paisa then your most likely a southerner, if you look american your a northerner. The whole conversation bashing paisas we had not too long ago was eerily common place for a northerner state of mind, damn near identical. Northerners look at "paisas" as inferior, in their minds northerners are american "chicano" and have more tradition than surenos who are paisas who come here illegally. A lot of them act "black" in how they talk and dress and do say nigga this nigga that, but so do a good number of surenos ive met, espescially one from south los, specifically florencia, who go at it with a lot of blacks. But there are more than quite a few northerners who dont "act black," who aside from the color they sport act like southsiders. I ran into few who have shown respect and they act like the homies, one even said that he doesnt have problem with real southsiders, just fools born and raised in norcal who claim sur... homegrown northern raised claiming sur when they never been there. Sound like IE fools claiming LA a little doesnt it. But the busters up here who do act stupid, tend to act "black" in dress code, language "swagg," there loud and annoying. The ones who are harder, more serious, tend to preserve the Chicano style as traditional surenos would recognize...

The ironic aspect is, a good percentage of California's Surenos are Mexico's Nortenos....and they listen to Norteno music(Mexico).....
