SAN BERNARDINO - The city's May homicide spree claimed another victim Sunday night when a Riverside man was shot and killed after an argument, police said Monday.

Police also announced Monday an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a San Bernardino man on Saturday. Christopher Canady, 24, was arrested on suspicion of murder Sunday in the death of Isaiah Deshawn Brutus, 29, of San Bernardino .

Sunday's fatal shooting is the third since Wednesday, the 10th in May and the 20th in 2012.

Maurice Major, 29, was found by officers at 9:52 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of North Sierra Way after a call reported a man down. They located the victim lying in the front yard at that location suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken by ambulance to St. Bernardines where he died a short time later.

A second adult shooting victim was located a block away with a foot wound. He was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in good condition and has been released from the hospital.

Police have no suspects in the shooting.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective Al Tello at (909) 384-5747, or Sergeant Gary Robertson at (909) 841-5361.

On Saturday Isaiah Deshawn Brutus, 29, of San Bernardino was found lying in the 2600 block of West Foothill Boulevard, according to a news release from the San Bernardino Police Department.

Police said Saturday a motive for the shooting is unknown and there were no suspects. No other details were expected to be released Saturday, a police watch commander said.

Officers were called to the scene at 1:59 a.m. and found the man. He was declared dead by medical personnel.

On Wednesday, Edward Garcia Urena, a Highland resident, became San Bernardino's 18th homicide victim this year and eighth homicide victim in May when he was found shot to death.

Officers responded to an unknown disturbance call in the driveway of a large lot next to a home at 903 E. San Jacinto St. where they discovered Urena's body about 1a.m., according to police.

Innocent bystander shot by stray bullet in San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO - An unidentified woman was shot in the neck by a stray bullet Monday night as a gun battle ensued between the passengers of two cars, police said.
The shooting occurred in the the 1500 block of Sierra Way, just a few blocks from where the city's 20th homicide happened late Sunday.

"The two cars were involved in a hit and run a few blocks away, followed by a chase, and ended with gunfire wounding an innocent bystander," said San Bernardino police Lt. Dave Harp. "The victim was taken to the hospital and we are searching relentlessly for the shooters."

Someone is going at it in that area right now....
