San Bernardino police arrested a man Thursday evening in connection with a body that was found May 22 in a hole in the backyard of a residence.
San Bernardino Gang Team officers arrested Victor Moran Angulo, 38, of San Bernardino, without incident at 6:55 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 500 block of Magnolia Avenue, police said in a statement.

Police suspect Angulo in the death of 21-year-old Angel Cortez, of San Bernardino, whose shot and burned body was found in a hole in the backyard of a home in the 200 block of East 11th Street, according to the statement.

Police found Angulo with his girlfriend, Olga Varela, 32, of San Bernardino. Varela was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder.

Angulo was booked into Central Detention Center, in San Bernardino, on suspicion of murder, according to sheriff's jail logs. He is being held without bail.

The case will be submitted to the District Attorney's Office for review.

And yet somehow a SHOT and BURNED body isn't worthy of being deemed as a homicide by SBPD........ Rolling Eyes Strange how no mention of these bullet wounds were mentioned in the "official" reports ....

I'm pretty sure this is the Magnolia that is around H st, so not SCO territory per se, but close enough. SCO mainly claims the area west of the freeway. But there is LOTS of SCO who live in and around that area all the way until E street.
