Gun control debate

A recent event sparked another debate on gun control.

I'll say this. I will take the anti-gun people's arguments more serious when they start advocating taking the guns away from the police and military too!!!

yeah , i don't know how effective that will be in curving the "mentality" that exists from old in this country of solving problems with violence., you hear people say that it is people that kill people, not guns, and however true that is, it is nevertheless the sociological system we grew up that makes people want to go out and kill others., we train our little ones from a young age to be violent., to pull that trigger on that toy gun., to push the button on that digital game., to kick some ass on that playing field., to give some attitute as if it was a funny thing to do., we want them our kids to be bad ass., we don't want them to grow up peaceful and humble., so that's part of the system we developed for ourselves growing up., then there's the pressure cooker., the push-to-succeed drive to the top., work, school, transportation, finances, red tape, etc, etc, etc., and what are the cause and effect of the rat race? That everyone is a walking time bomb., everybody is walking on a bubble. There's no slow down and humbleness being preached nor practiced for reals in this country., so what else are we to expect? .. ~> more educated on books people who just had it., and more left behind souls who couldn't handle the pressure cooker anymore., i think it is too late to take away guns from people in this country., if you were to do that, then it will be like in mexico where ordinary citizens are not allowed to own guns, but the non-ordinary citizens all have guns, and it makes for the most imperfect balance., mexico used to be an armed nation., everyone had a gun and everyone knew how to use it, but part of the pacification process after the mexican revolution was to outlaw guns for the citizenry., and really what that did was to make sure that no groups could evr again rise up against the government., in essence, assuring the government always having the upper hand, and relegating everyone else to "illegality" and "criminality" .. You would need to turn the U.S. population into a country of confuscious or buddhism adherents in order to get them away from a gun mentality., but this is the wild wild western civilization., derived from the greeks, the romans, the huns, the anglo-saxons, the northmen, the imperial powers together with their war gods and their gods soap opera in the heavens reaking havoc on earth., you would have to change all that history., all the indoctrination done over a millenia to change the minds of western man., especially, western man in these here criminal states of amerika!

I think modern day stress and pressures play a role in people snapping too. If you think about it, we weren't meant to bare the amount of stress we deal with daily. I'm talking about all the small modern day stresses...Like sitting in traffic or trying to find a job to pay bills, being exposed to a 24 hour news cycle and social media......Man dealt with stress for more basic reasons in the past, like being hungry and needing to find food or running away from a wild animal. Those stresses were probably intense but temporary. The stresses of today are constant..

and living in a quasi fascist country doesn't help...violence is worshiped through statism and militarism....
