Victorville man shot in face in Rialto

RIALTO -- Rialto Police investigators are searching for the person who shot a 23-year-old Victorville man in the face Saturday night.
Authorities began receiving several 911 calls around 9:30 p.m. reporting a shooting in the 900 block of Lorraine Place in Rialto, police officials said.

A woman said a man in a vehicle had been shot by an unknown assailant who was on foot, according to dispatch reports. The man who had been shot managed to drive away from the location to a home in the 200 block of Quince Street less than a mile away.

Paramedics and Rialto Police officers arrived at the Quince Street address and found the 23-year-old with a gunshot wound to the face.

He was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he was last listed in critical but stable condition, police officials said.

A motive for the shooting and a description of the shooter have not been released.

The case will be handed over to the Rialto police detective bureau and to the gang team for further follow-up, officials said.
