$6-million marijuana grow busted in Diamond Bar area, 2 arrested

Two men have been arrested in connection with an elaborate marijuana-growing operation involving $6 million worth of plants in the Diamond Bar area.
Three search warrants were served Wednesday at homes in Diamond Bar and the adjacent Hacienda Heights community, where detectives found more than 2,000 marijuana plants and about 20 pounds of marijuana, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
In addition, detectives discovered electricity was being stolen at all three homes from Southern California Edison.
Binh Ly, 43, of Rosemead and Thank Chiem, 45, of San Jose were booked at the sheriff’s station in Walnut. Bail was set at $170,000.
