Rancho Cucamonga man found dead on Christmas with apparent gunshot wounds

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - What began as a call to sheriff's deputies about a man down on Christmas night in the 10100 block of Banyan Street turned out to be an apparent shooting victim.
When deputies arrived, they found a man in his early 50s on the sidewalk and suffering from gunshot wounds, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Bachman.

"The man was pronounced dead at the scene," Bachman said. "Homicide detectives rolled out to investigate the incident."

This is considered a death investigation at this time, Bachman added.

The name of the man is being held until the next of kin is notified.

An autopsy will determine the actual cause of death, Bachman said.

There are no suspects at this time and no weapons were discovered at the scene, according to authorities.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (KTLA) — Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a suspect who shot and killed a man outside an apartment on Mountain View Avenue Thursday night.

Rancho Cucamonga Police responded to a 911 call at the Montecito Apartments around 8 p.m. about a man down in the parking lot.

Detectives identified the victim as 24-year-old Steven Arredondo of Rancho Cucamonga.

Investigators say the motive for the shooting is unclear.

On Tuesday night, a man was found shot to death just a couple miles away outside a home on Banyan Street.
