Gang shooting Barstow

Darnell Cleveland, 23, was pronounced dead at 1:34 p.m. at Barstow Community Hospital, San Bernardino County coroner's officials said. The other victim, Devontea Cole, 18, was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton for treatment of serious wounds.

Police received a call at 12:14 p.m. from someone who heard gunshots in the 700 block of Dolph Court. Officers arrived and found two gunshot victims in the front yard of a home.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Gregory Thompson, was arrested in the 500 block of East Williams Street, police said. Witnesses identified him as the shooter in an in-field lineup.

Police said Cole is an admitted member of a Barstow gang and Thompson is affiliated with a rival gang.
