Re: EAST SIDE VERDUGO DWG GANG
The first ESV Dwight Way Gang hit ups on the forum. Couldn't find any hit ups on Dwight Way, but there's plenty around the other streets surrounding it. Found these on Barton. Looks like they tagged over FX3 on the first one. Someone also crossed out the LA on the second one, and wrote IE on the first one.

Re: EAST SIDE VERDUGO DWG GANG
I knew some vatos from there from like 95-98 some of them use to bang wsv 7st and all that then started pushing dwg hard. These cats even banged red "NO SHIT EITHER" in high school i knew 4 of them, some cat named brazy who was also called "midget" when he was pushing wsv. vato named fobic and big mando and panson. These cats would be all flamed up red belts, red cortez, red rags and call crips "crabs" and shit!! It was nutts seeing these homies sporting red they even called themselves "Bloods" but then they covered it up saying that the bloods was for them all being primos and carnales and shit. I think but im not to sure that a white vato was calling the shots in this hood. All this has been witnessed by my own two eyes and heard from real close ties to that hood.

Thanks for the info. I remember that shit. I never knew any of those cats, but the first time I saw a dwight way hit up, it was on dwight way and base line and said dwight way bloods. This had to be around '96. Also, around the same time, I remember going to this gas station on pacific and, I think, sterling. As I was pulling up, I saw a latino cat flamed up leaving the store. Obviously, there's no guarantee that the guy was from dwight way, but the possibility is good.

Re: EAST SIDE VERDUGO DWG GANG
Sounds like they may have been connected with a West side hood or another hood that they linked up with. (a damu hood of course) Maybe the blacks in the area where damus and established something on that street, getting some ese's involved as well.

NO, ESV Valles isn't in MBR. Its in the valley pretty much west of the old base.

ESV Valles is in the Valley off of Valley View and Santa Fe streets. But, in the Valley area not Meadowbrooks.

Yeah, that was wrote a while back when some of us thought that Valley Street and the surrounding area was the "Vallies" neighborhood. Shit, at that time, we didn't even know the initials for the "ESV Vallies". Since then we have confirmed their actual location.
On a sidenote...this proves how just because ANY of us never heard of a gang, doesn't mean that they aren't there. Can't be quick to judge or be ignorant about it and say shit like "well, I never heard of them, so there's no such thing". For example, where I stay is the closest neighborhood to the Valley area...within walking distance actually, just a few blocks up...I was always aware that the area over there was "THE VALLEY", since I pass by it just about every damn day, but never actually ventured into their neighborhood like that...had no reason to do so. To be real, I had no idea what VG even was until I learned about it on this forum...and through a few homies from my neighborhood who I have asked afterwards. I then ventured over there for the first time off Valley View to check it out and to see if it was true, that's when I seen ALL their hit ups. Lived so close, but never even knew they existed. Just goes to prove what I was originally saying...just because any of us havn't heard of a gang...doesn't mean that they don't exist.

NYTE RYDA wrote:Who actually knows it might be something that broke off MBR. lol. Another thing that makes it more apparent is obviously the word "Valles" means Valley in spanish, but of course can also be refering to the actual "valley" itself. But Valley for Valley street sounds more convincing to me, and seemed just about confirmed to me yesterday.
I was referring to this post you did-regarding the turf of Valles. This post is what led me to add correction. But, yeh, the ESV Valles has nothing to do with MBR's turf...they have there own in the Valley/PPHG orginal hood.

Re: EAST SIDE VERDUGO DWG GANG
yeh paid, that area has been valley gang for the longest. Remember a few weeks back we brought up how pphg used to be Valley Gang too...they were just Crips. VGC. But the ese's over there have always been "valles" ESV. I grew up over there along with 1/2 of my family...lots of memories good and bad. SAnta Fe was my street. Teddy, Michael, Alfredo, Thomas, Rene, Joe, David, Andre, Derrick, Della, Trish, Archie, Johny Man, Tony, Daniel, Pete, shit, I can go on and on. The Browns were by far the one of the craziest fam's over there. Crack hit hard and sherm was the drug of choice for all the youngsters. Depressing shit when I look back on those years. I would come to the West Side in the dalez or on Trenton every wknd happy as hell to get out of there. That was the difference between East/West. On the east, we was poor as shit...dusty, all the words other hoods used to call us back then, field rats all that. When I came to the West side, shit we had roaches up in Grandma's house but, the grass was green and there was more money on the westside...nyte yaw some spoiled mofo's lol
Eastside-we had the pool at mill center/bike races/the penny fair at perris hill park
West side-yaw had the pool on 5th, the bakery on medical center, the courts on medical center, the swapmeet, mt. vernon strip (we used to throw rocks at the prostitutes), and nice houses...nice ass houses with green grass!

Re: EAST SIDE VERDUGO DWG GANG
I have to take issue with your description of the West side niners, but only because the manner in which you describe it implies a false image to those not familiar with the city and gives the allusion that it's a considerably more affluent area as opposed to the East side, which is definitely not the case.
For one the original PPHG area (The valley) is not on the East side per se, but on the South side of San Bernardino. Secondly the area has always been a highly underdeveloped section, no sidewalks, badly kept streets, etc...(also was the original black community of SB).
But this was and still is do to the very poor economic situation of the area, and the general layout of the area which is very country like. This was true of the area then and is true now, though to a lesser degree nowadays. The location of this part of the city was/is not easily accessible through freeways and major streets and was largely ignored which made the area depressed and ignored much like county land.
As far as the West side is concerned you are correct on a certain front, that being that initially a few select West side neighborhoods (during the 1960's) where typically viewed as a better off area for Blacks. In particular the blocks south of Community hospital, (Gilbert) and a later the Magnolia estates.
I guess one could have probably described the Gilbert street area as a more "upper scale" area, in comparison to the missing sidewalks and pot hole streets of the Valley area.
Shortly after the construction of the 215, the boundary that essentially isolated the West side from the rest of the city, drove a huge chunk of the areas economy to vanish largely due to the manner in which the 215 was purposely constructed, built in such a way that it diverged people away from the area, which severely depleted and depressed the "life" of the neighborhood.
Mt vernon was booming prior to this, but one must still take into consideration that despite all of the flourishing economy along Mt vernon, which essentially fed the West side, the area was still largely impoverished from the very earliest years.
Specific neighborhoods like the Gilbert street area where built in the late 50's and 60's, this is the area that attracted blacks from the Valley area, which at the time was viewed as better off and rite fully so.
You still had the neighborhoods West of Mt vernon (the Projects) which was predominately black that was largely poor and impoverished since the 1940's. As well as the areas east of Mt vernon, 7th street, SCO etc. These areas have been suffering from city neglection, blight and poverty for decades.
Sections like the CG's and DH on the West side where predominately lower class (but nice) white neighborhoods prior to the 60's, before white flight began around the mid 60's, which after, became predominately black neighborhoods. This all changed (the nice image) as the demographics changed and being that these sections bordered county area (Muscoy) they where typically low income to begin with.
The property values dropped as poor blacks moved in, and both of these areas became afflicted by poverty, blight, crime and depression by the early 70's and on from that. In the late 60's you had the Magnolia estates built, which notably became the "best" looking neighborhood on the West side. This along with certain blocks of Gilbert street area are the most well kept area on the West but by no means does that constitute that the residents are living lavishly, these are still low income and income challenged residents.
Aside from these two neighborhoods (most noticeably the Magnolia area) the West side collectively is and always has had and continues to have some of the poorest areas in the city. Areas like DH, Mt vernon, the Projects and others to be specific are some of the most blighted in the city. Once again aside from basically one small neighborhood on the West side (Magnolia) there is absolutely nothing nice or lavish about the area at all.
There isn't even a proper super market, stores or gas stations on the West side, (new gas station being built on 5th street) but collectively the West side is poverty struck, both visually and statistically beyond any kind of dispute.

Yeah, I'm not really talking about ghettos. I just wanted to point out a few things, and add a little history while I was at it.
Re: EAST SIDE VERDUGO DWG GANG
Nyte, that part of my post was just messing around dude, I wasn't serious with comparing the two sides...it was a joke. I know about the westside pops side of the family is from all over the west. Moms side is from the East. Even though the Valley is the south east, my point was that ESV Valles Gang is in the Valley-no matter what side of verdugo they want to identifly with.

Yea doesn't mean they don't exist, just means its a good chance they are less of a factor and are small time. Thats the main thing. Theirs alot of us who heard their was a Valley gang though, but none of us really knew exactly where. So their name was atleast floating around. As for DWG? Another pretty much unheard of thing. When it comes to "West Side Verdugo" "7th Street" "Lil Counts" Sur Crazie Ones" etc. these are known throughout the SoCal Varrio Chicano gang sence all over. Their name atleast is out there but not just their name, but their reputaion more importantly. Thats the difference. Not so much about not exsiting or not.

Yeah I wasn't trying to start conflict most of my post was regarding history, not which side looks worse and what not. It's kind of hard to determine whether someone is being serious or not on the internet.

Is this the Dwight way over by Del rosa? If so it borders the old ES 13 hood. Almost over laps I think.
