Re: $32 billion donation
I can't help that I don't have all the answers.
The first take-away should be the action because this gets people talking. If about nothing other than his $32 billion dollars and how much wealth that is.

Re: $32 billion donation
I just raise the questions, I don't expect anyone in particular to have the answers.
Wealth is a good thing though, for the most part.

Re: $32 billion donation
Well nobody needs anything but food , water and shelter.
But how much somebody has doesn't necessarily harm anyone.

Re: $32 billion donation
Really? So 1% of the population having 99% of the income is not harmful?

Re: $32 billion donation
No. That would be faulty thinking.
That would assume that because some people have a lot of wealth that is comes at the expense of other people. As if wealth is divided as this one pie that never changes and is set in its size for eternity.
Wealth actually creates more wealth in reality.

Re: $32 billion donation
I disagree because I don't think money is real at all except for those that need it to survive.

Re: $32 billion donation
How can it be real? It is just paper and U.S. currency is only backed by violence and threats of war.

Re: $32 billion donation
Money is definitely a real thing.
Sure, the state has banned the monies that the market chose( gold and silver) and eventually replaced it with its fiat currency which comes with a long list of problems that fiat money creates but it still serves to function as a medium of exchange which is the real purpose of money.

Re: $32 billion donation
I disagree. The billionaire agenda validates my belief that money is only real for those that need it. There are people so wealthy is this world, people we will never know, whose wealth will never be diminished. Why? Because at a certain point, the money stops being real and it is about the power you have.

Re: $32 billion donation
It isn't harmful for people to be wealthy.
When someone is wealthy, most of their money is invested. Investment is key to creating more wealth in the world. Investment is what allows for capital accumulation, which leads to more wealth due to efficiency and innovation.
If nobody was wealthy or not enough wealthy people existed than the world would be completely screwed. We would all have to work with our bare hands and eat whatever we can catch or grow.

Re: $32 billion donation
I mean buy things. How much do wealthy people buy as opposed to things that are given to them? Household goods like foods are not what I mean.

Re: $32 billion donation
I don't know how much they buy In terms of material goods or in terms of services. I'd assume it would be quite higher than the average person but probably varies.
Re: $32 billion donation
Let us discuss the Kardashians because you have experience with them. How much of their "stuff" do you think they actually pay for?

Re: $32 billion donation
Those are the goods that people purchase that will create a commerce effect on us.

Re: $32 billion donation
I disagree with that.
Buying a bunch of stuff isn't what makes wealthy people helpful.
