Two men were found shot to death in the northwestern area of Fontana on Wednesday night, Dec. 28.
Fontana Police Department officers responded to North Heritage Park in the 7200 block of North Heritage Circle, near Baseline Avenue, for a report of gunshots in the area at about 8:40 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the victims inside a vehicle. The men were pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
One of the victims was identified as Robert Ruiz, a 22-year-old resident of Montclair, according to family members who gathered at the small park to mourn their loss on Thursday morning, Dec. 29.
"He was a caring, good person," said Crystal Ruiz, the victim's sister. "I don't know why someone would do this to him."
Robert Ruiz was the youngest of six children in the family, she said.
Natalie Ruiz, another sister, said Robert was a sweet man who helped take care of his siblings' children.
"He had so much to live for," she said.
Crystal Ruiz said the family members received a phone call from police early in the morning regarding the tragedy, but they did not receive many other details about the case and did not know the name of the other victim of the apparent double homicide.
Overall in 2016, there have been a total of 12 murders reported in Fontana, police said. At least four of the homicides took place at city parks, but there was not yet any indication that any of those events were related.
The suspect(s) are unknown at this time, police said. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Fontana P.D. at (909) 350-7700.

Re: Two men shot to death at Fontana park
12 killings in Fontana this year. That's a lot for Fontana. Even more weird how a lot of the killings happened at parks.
Re: Two men shot to death at Fontana park
Few years back the Fontana mayor and city council were trying real hard to push Fontana as being one of the safest cities in America, to bring in more home buyers. I wonder what that lying, conniving bish will come up with to explain away a dozen murders, which is definitely not happening in Irvine, Fremont and those other truly safe cities.

A man is in custody after police say he shot and killed two men sitting in their car at a Fontana park Wednesday night.
Roberto Colon, 21, of Fontana was arrested Thursday evening near Foothill Boulevard and Banana Street on suspicion of murder, San Bernardino County sheriff’s booking records show.
According to Fontana police officials, Colon shot and killed Victor Hernandez, 22, of Pomona and Robert Ruiz, 22, of Upland Wednesday night at North Heritage Park. Officers found the men in the vehicle in the 1700 block of North Heritage Circle around 9 p.m. after police responded to a shots fired call in the area.

lol yeah . There's a lot of controversy right now in Fontana city politics. Mayor trying to push for more cops and police "equipment " and holicopters and shit like that. Idk shit has changed a lot. All that crime and gang actively that we used to talk about being in west unciorporated Fontana has moved to north and east Fontana.
