A 19-year-old Fontana resident has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of a man last month, according to the Fontana Police Department.

Martin Jauregui was charged with the murder of 21-year-old Miguel Hernandez, whose body was found near the front of a residence in the 9400 block of Juniper Avenue in Fontana on the morning of Aug. 25.
Fontana detectives worked several leads and were able to determine that a confrontation occurred between Hernandez and a person identified as Jauregui, police said. During that confrontation, Jauregui allegedly shot and killed Hernandez.
Police were able to locate Jauregui at his residence in the 9300 block of Juniper, and a search warrant was served at that location on the evening of Sept. 5 by the Inland Valley Swat Team (IVS) and detectives with the Fontana P.D. Jauregui was taken into custody and later booked at West Valley Detention Center for homicide with a $1 million bail amount.
