Queen - Another One Bites The Dust
The lead singer is gay, but that doesn't affect what I consider good music. Dude get's down on the singing.

Re: Rock music
ya its crazy how it switches up, but it goes with there sound i guess. kinda like a lot of good rock songs start slow and low and gradually get louder and harder. they just jumped into it though. its cool though. it has a good rythym and the guitar is tight.Paid_In_Full wrote:Yeah, Bohemian Rhapsody is probably my second favorite song from Queen, but the part at 3:05 kinda throws me off LOL...still a good song though.

Re: Rock music
I like, and own CD's from just about every genre there is when it comes to music. I love music man... hiphop, oldies, country, rock, jazz, blues, neo-soul, r&b, big band, alternative, spiritual, electronic, pop... african, middle eastern, jamaican... i own CD's from all those genre'.
But about rock-n-roll, what hip me to it years ago was this one chick i dated (a non-black chick, lol) who was always playin her little stuff and at first i was like "that shit gets no play in my ride" lol, but after awhile, after i really bent my ear to it and gave it some real listen, some of it became alittle cool. This is all around the time when kirk cobain was living, in his "last days", if you will... Ole girl knew i was into guitars (family skill) so she put me up on game with some cats who really got down and from there i left that window open, you know what i mean... all music is good music if its from the heart... Gotta keep ya mind open in life... you never know whats out there. I like too many bands to really push out a list though... But the artist yall got up here so far, yeah i got that. lol. I guess let me shake over to YouTube and see if some of my favs is up there...

Slayer is definitely the best. Going to see Metallica tonight in Ontario. My girlfriend won tickets from a radio station.

The Stains were from Boyle Heights. They were one of the first real Chicano bands in the L.A. punk scene and they were bad as fuck. While other bands were singing about Reagan and shit, they sang about things that directly affected them on a local level. Most of their shows ended in riots when the LAPD started shit with them. A lot of the police brutality and racism was directed against the punks based on their skin color (being brown and a punk made you a target). Gangs like Circle One and LADS started forming as a result. The Stains put out their record on SST records (Black Flag's label). The label owed them money, so they took back the rest of the records. The record was never repressed, so it's worth a lot of money now.
I've heard Staind on the radio a couple times, totally different band though.
