Agreed. They're great storytellers and great musicians too. Bruce Dickinson possesses a phenomenal voice that raise these songs to an operatic level. I believe he is only surpassed by Rob Halford of Judas Priest who really belts it out.

Honestly, that cover put me to sleep. Wouldn't say it's better, mainly due to the musicianship of the original. It's hard to beat anything from the first 3 Danzig albums, as far as cover versions go.

Here's one of Danzig's most underrated songs:

This video is bad ass:

Samhain - The Howl

Samhain - Archangel

Samhain - The Hungry End

Awesome song especially around Halloween time. BTW, which do you prefer the Bauhaus original or Nouvelle Vague cover? I actually prefer the NV cover.

Bauhaus is one of the genuine Gothic bands. Tho they can lay on the homoeroticism on abit too heavy. Tho, I am not sure if any of them are true homos/bis, it might be all intentional, kinda like the showy effiminate qualities of Depeche Mode or glam rock bands of the 70s. The vampire/goth scene is all about sexual androgeny afterall. But Bauhaus produced brilliant songs. I love "In The Flat Fields", "Double Dare", "Hollow Hills" (I think this may be in reference to Arthur Machen's the little people/the white people if you love weird fiction Machen kicks ass), "Stigmata Martyr", etc.

Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead

Bauhaus - The Passion of Lovers

Here is a lil belated Halloween extra, the talented Don DePaola performing the theme for Stephen King's Sleepwalkers directed by Mick Garris, actually a song called Boadicea that was first showcased by Enya.

REM - E-Bow The Letter

Supposedly the song is from letters written back & forth from their singer and River Phoenix before he died.
