I don't care much for the street politics of the movie....I enjoy the story about the football coach who was able to accomplish what he did with those kids....

Im not really worried about street politics, it generalizes raza and makes them look dumb, just like I assume any person of any other race wouldn't feel a movie that was degrading to their race in a serious movie. Gridiron gang isnt Cheech and Chong, it has a message, a strong one at that, its just unfortunate that raza is depicted to look like such chumps in this flick, which to me is bothersome...just my .02 cents

I know exactly what you speak of....but all things being considered this portrayal of Latinos has always been around....especially in cinema or tv....since the days off seemingly harmless cartoons depicting Latinos as super fast rats(speedy gonzalez) or mariachis playing background for some gava....even worse were the Zorro episodes...imo.....
