LOS ANGELES - Two Rialto men were charged Friday in connection with the near fatal beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow on Opening Day at Dodger Stadium, police here said.
A woman also arrested in connection with the beating was not charged Friday, police said.
Officers arrested Marvin Eugene Norwood Jr., 30, Louie Alex Sanchez, 29, and Dorene Victoria Sanchez on Thursday. All three have addresses on West Victoria Street in Rialto, according to Los Angeles County booking logs.
Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said in a news conference Friday that they are suspects in Stow's beating.
Stow, 42, was nearly beaten to death by two men after attending the March 31 Dodgers' home opener against the Giants. He remained hospitalized Friday in serious condition.
Robbery homicide detectives re-interviewed all of the witnesses in the case, which initially was based purely on eyewitness statements that were not corroborated with forensic evidence, authorities said.
Beck gave very few details on why detectives believe Norwood and Louie Sanchez were the men who put Stow into a coma, but he said the LAPD was confident the correct men had been arrested.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley's office charged Norwood and Louie Sanchez with felony mayhem and assault. Louie Sanchez was also charged with two misdemeanor battery counts stemming from a different incident on March 31.

Angeles Police Department never gave up on this case," Cooley said in a prepared statement. "The experienced prosecutors assigned to the case will present the evidence in the courtroom, where ultimate decisions will be made."
Norwood and Louie Alex Sanchez were booked into Los Angeles County jail. Bail was set at $500,000.
Dorene Sanchez was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the beating. She was later released on bail. She has not yet been charged with a crime, but Beck said it's possible that she may be in coming weeks.
Police previously arrested Giovanni Ramirez, 31, in the case. He is now serving 10 months for a parole violation at a detention facility in San Diego. Ramirez was never charged with a crime after his arrest in the Stow beating case.
Beck said Ramirez is no longer a suspect in the Stow beating.
"It's just as important to exonerate the innocent as it is to implicate the guilty," the chief said.
Detectives' investigation into the Stow beating - which is still ongoing - turned up leads that implicated Norwood and Louie Sanchez while making it clear that Ramirez was not the suspect, authorities said.
Beck also said the LAPD will not release photos of Norwood, Louie Sanchez or Dorene Sanchez. Releasing the photos could interfere with the investigation, he said.
LAPD investigators came to Rialto early Thursday looking for the suspects. Rialto police Lt. Joe Cirilo said the LAPD was the lead agency and Rialto officers simply supported L.A. police.
"We were strictly here as a resource to them for their ongoing investigation," Cirilo said.
In March 2006, Norwood was convicted of inflicting bodily injury on a spouse, according to court records.
Three years earlier, Louie Sanchez was found guilty of the same crime and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, according to the court records.
In 2004, Sanchez was convicted of carrying a loaded firearm and Norwood was found guilty of disturbing the peace in 2000, records show.

They didn't even consider he might be white.
and LOL at the cops trying to pin this whole thing on some random VNE member in the beginning. dude fit the generic sketch they drew up and had nothing to do with the beating.
