Fontana No Warning Shots.!! The Leg Violence Continues.!!!

A 31-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in the right thigh and left ankle last Saturday, according to the Fontana Police Department.

An officer found the man in a car near the Circle K gas station on the corner of Baseline and Citrus avenues, but the exact circumstances of the shooting remained unclear following the incident, police said.

At 10:45 p.m., the officer happened to be in the area of the station when he saw a vehicle parked in the parking lot. He watched as one man ran into the store and then quickly ran back out. The man who ran out got back into the vehicle and started to drive away, but he stopped the car when the officer requested him to do so.

At that point, the officer noted that there were a total of three people in the vehicle, and one of them got out and said he had been shot. The victim was taken by ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.

The other two people in the car (the driver, who is a 31-year-old resident of Rialto, and his 22-year-old passenger) gave investigators conflicting accounts of how the victim had been shot, police said.

No weapon was found at the location, and no persons were arrested in connection with the shooting.

However, the driver was arrested on a DUI charge and the passenger was arrested for being drunk in public, police said.

The investigation of the incident was hindered by the non-cooperation of the individuals in the car, police said. Police did not know the exact relationship between the three men, although it was apparent they knew each other.
