Working-class Britain, 1983, during the Mod, New Romantics, and Skinhead major youth sub-cultures at the time, 12 year old Shaun living with his widowed mother (father a soldier casualty in the Falklands) is taken in and protected by a group of Skinheads but once the recently released ex-con Combo rejoins with new friends things take a violent and turbulent and ultimately tragic twist as the gang is indoctrinated into the bitter and racist militant right-winged National Front beliefs of Combo, which openly advocates ethnic cleansing, redefining racism as reality, and Nazism as nationalism.

Thanks! In the upcoming holiday spirit, I will post more horror films as Halloween approaches. But here's two more classics.

This here 1982 classic slasher is one whup ass can of WTF. This film is so badass it demands everyone's standup attention. In fact it could have well introduced "WTF" to the English dialect even tho it is Italian in origin. Here is Pieces (recommended viewing mode with a couple of beers). LOL! Enjoy. This "so bad it's good" clunker is reknown for it's "pass it on" basis.

Here is one of the all time favorite backwoods slasher of mine called Just Before Dawn (1981), one can see where the recent backwoods slasher Wrong Turn drew it's influences from. Only this one is shot in the appropiate dark dense woods of Oregon and accompanied by a sparse atmospheric score provided by Brad Fiedel (The Terminator, Fright Night).

1. la pastorela- stars paul rodriguez and Linda ronstadt and few others, it was giving away by bank of america back in the early 90s and we always used to watch it. the parts wit the devil and corny special effects use to actually give me nightmares haha

Robert Rodriguez script and directed by Nimrod Antal. I wish it were Rodriguez directing. I am sure he would make this film hella fun and actions films is what he excels in. Antal has made two movies Kontroll was great fun but Vacancy was meh. Danny Trejo = Cuchillo (fuck yeah!), Adrian Brody = Royce (WTF?), Topher Grace = Edwin (WTF?).

Despite the suspect casting, I hope this raises the level of prestige of the crappy flagging offerings of the Predator franchise which hasn't seen a respectable film since the 1987 original.

I like to watch a lot of "independent films". A lot of them made oversea's, in other countries. Why hold ourselves back from great movies made oversea's just because we don't understand the language? As long as it has subtitles, I'm with the cizznezz ya digg? A vato don't gives a fuck. Well, anyways, I came across a movie the other day called "Journey From The Fall". It's a movie about a family in which was apart of the wave of 'boat people' that escaped the Fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War. I was halfway through the movie, the family in the movie had finally made it to US by boat after overcoming some fucked up obstacles along the way, and they had settled and made their home right here in the Golden State of CA. There was a part in the movie when the family went to take the little kid on a Carousel ride. You know, fake ass horses swinging round and round in circles like a Merry go round, lights everywhere, small popcorn stands in the background. It struck me with surprise that this was a very familiar scene....so familiar, that it MUST of been something I've grew up knowing about. And it was. The whole scene was filmed in San Bernardino's OG Central City Carousel Mall, famous for that indoor Carousel they been having for decades. Back to the good ol' Harris and Montgomery Ward dayz. My uncle used take me there to ride that Carousel when I was a little kid; eat popcorn, buy little 3 for 10 cent candies at the See's candies upstairs, watch the 2 dollar movie theatre downstairs, so the scene automatically brought back some good memories. Sad, sad movie, one of the saddest I have ever seen, but very good for an independent film on a big budget. The credits to the movie shouted out much love to the people and city of SAN BERNARDINO.
