Published: Wednesday, November 28, 2012 10:44 AM PST
A 25-year-old Fontana man was arrested on a vehicle burglary charge on Nov. 28, according to the Fontana Police Department.

At about 3:50 a.m., officers responded to a call of a man possibly burglarizing vehicles at an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Citrus Avenue. The man had been seen by a security guard patrolling the complex acting suspiciously around parked vehicles at the location.

While investigating the incident, the officers contacted Eric Sanchez, who was walking through an adjoining apartment complex. The officers discovered that one of the vehicles at the original location had been burglarized and also found several items taken from that vehicle allegedly in the possession of Sanchez, including a cell phone and garage door opener.

Sanchez was arrested for alleged vehicle burglary and being in possession of stolen property. He was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Police later determined that Sanchez had recently been released as a part of California's realignment plan under AB109 (Post Release Community Supervision Program).
