DOLLLA MURDERED

A MAN from Atlanta has been charged with the murder of rapper DOLLA.

AUBREY LOUISE BERRY was ordered to attend court yesterday where he faced two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of murder.

The 23-year-old allegedly shot the rising star after a dispute in the Beverly Center in LA.

In addition to this shooting, Berry's charges stem from allegedly firing at two other people who were present at the time of the altercation.

The fatal shooting took place around 3pm on Monday, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

Dolla, real name Roderick Anthony Burton II, was just 21.

He was an up-and-coming rapper signed to AKON's production company and achieved success with his T-PAIN-assisted track Who the F*** Is That.

Witnesses said four to five shots rang out at the normally quiet shopping centre.

Dolla was then taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he later died from injuries.

Berry reportedly fled the crime scene in a Mercedes SUV and was arrested by police later at the airport.

He is being held on $1.1 million bail and if convicted faces a maximum of life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Dolla's stepfather GEORGE VIERA revealed the bullet pierced his stepson's heart.

He also said Dolla was not a stereotypical gangsta rapper, adding: "It was a character he played.

"To us he was just Roddy. When he was home, you couldn't pry him away. Loved to play with his nieces and nephews, loved to play on the Wii.

"He wanted to go to theology school. He was very interested in religion. People think rapper, they think hard, but he wasn't that way."

P DIDDY, for whom Dolla had modelled Sean John clothing, sent condolences on Twitter.

He wrote: "RIP Dolla. God bless his family! He was a good kid! You will be missed player. Don't take life for granted people!"

Before rapper Dolla was identified as the victim in Monday's fatal shooting at the Beverly Center in West L.A., the blogosphere was abuzz with rumors that Hot Dollar, another up-and-coming rap artist with a similar stage name, had been killed.

To set the record straight, Hot Dollar has posted this message on his MySpace page: "I am not dead this from Hot Dollar."

But as the news of the shooting unfolded, confusion reigned on the Web.

"So is it dolla or hot dolla? I'm confused," wrote one Twitterer.

"IS IT TRUE RAPPER DOLLA GOT SHOT AN KILLED OR IS IT HOT DOLLA THE RAPPER PLEASE TELL ME WHICH ONE PLEASE?!?!?!?!," wrote another.

Hot Dollar, born Leon Gray, is from Compton. He was born in Chicago, settled in Hattiesburg, Miss., and then relocated to California. He is sometimes called Hot Dolla.

Dolla, the 21-year-old rapper killed at the mall, is from Atlanta and was in Los Angeles to work on his first solo album. His real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II.

I thought they said he was born/raised in atlanta and still lived there and was ONLY out here to work on that album/song thing or whatever. Them Mansfield cats could have easily just been showing dude some love. Just like cats who hit up PAC R.I.P's wit they hood name and whoever wrote it, ect.... dont mean PAC was from THAT hood, that wrote it up. Know what i mean.....? even though he was seen in alot of pictures throwin up a 3, or an M, depending.... so maybe, but i thought he was a blood though, all the red he wore. Never seen too many crips wear red like that. Not saying he was all flammed up or nothing, but still, enough to notice that he likes red. Feel me. I dont know, and could care less, really, but it's too bad anotha brotha had to die so young.... and by the hands of another....

What I still don't understand is that if he grow up all his life in Atlanta than how did he get into Mansfield Crips, do they have a Mansfield Crip Set in Atlanta or what?

I doubt it. The kat scrap and him were half brothers. He prolly grew up out here a bit too. Like hot dollar is from compton but he also reps the south because as a child he went back and forth. I doubt dolla was really a gangbanger, more like an affiliate. I think the killing had something to do over some hater shit. THere are reports that the two started arguing on an airplane coming over to Los angeles. My thing is-where did the dude get his gun from if they was on a plane? He must of had some connections over here too.
