Man killed in robbery at Fontana swap meet identified

FONTANA - The man who was killed in what police say was a robbery attempt at an indoor swap meet has been identified as a 24-year-old Compton resident.
Coroner's officials say Roy Ezell Davis was one of the masked men who entered the Fontana Swap Meet on Friday.

Police said he was shot and killed by a security guard after he "pistol-whipped" the security guard.

An undetermined number of men wearing dark hoodies and ski masks entered the business, police said.

All but the deceased man fled the scene after they were unsuccessful at taking any jewelry.

The security guard was treated at a hospital and released, police said.

The guard is not facing any type of charges at this time.

Maybe they didnt know the guard had a gun. Or maybe they just got scared and bailed. Or couldnt find the jewelry close enough to the front or something. Either way, they are ALL stupid for not coming out with SOMETHING. Hell, atleast grab a few hats on the way out, its right there in the front aint it? I dont understand how they didnt grab ANY thing. Thats weird. But i guess you had to be there to know what happened. I caint call it.
